Liberating clients from anxiety, stress, and trauma.

Areas of focus

Anxiety, Panic Attacks, and Phobias

Many therapists use outdated techniques to treat panic attacks, anxiety, and phobias. Old school approaches involve relying primarily on techniques such as deep breathing to reduce anxiety in the short term. In contrast with such approaches, I work with clients to directly challenge their expectations in anxiety provoking situations. An ultimate goal is to build tolerance for anxiety in a systematic manner and to gain a sense of empowerment.

Trauma

I am passionate about helping clients process and recover from various forms of trauma. I have extensive experience in two evidence-based approaches to treat PTSD including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE). My formal training experience has involved engaging in weekly consultation groups for both CPT and PE. I have also received individual supervision from a national trainer in PE.

Insomnia

Sleep problems can have a significant impact on one’s mood and quality of life. I have received formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia—an evidence-based approach used to increase sleep efficiency and quality. I am happy to offer this form of therapy to those struggling with insomnia.

Gender-Affirming Care

I am dedicated to providing gender-affirming care for trans, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming clients. Trans healthcare has a long history of gatekeeping and robbing trans people of their autonomy. My approach involves respecting client self-determination and imparting tools to foster resilience in the face of oppression.
